Silver Obsidian Pendant
Made under the new moon in Capricorn in February.
The January 18 New Moon was unique because it was apart of a karmic cleanse (often referred to as Mauni Amavasya, or the Silent New Moon). It is heavily influenced by Pluto, indicating a major "reset" of old rules, structures, and personal limitations.
The original depiction of Capricorn is the "sea-goat" or "goat-fish," a mythical hybrid creature featuring the front half of a mountain goat and the rear half of a fish or sea monster. This depiction combines the earthly ambition of the goat (climbing heights) with the intuitive/emotional depth of the sea, often representing a creature that can traverse both realms.
Silver obsidian features a glossy black surface with a shimmering silver shine, creating a mesmerising effect. The reflective quality adds depth and allure, often reminiscent of a new moon. Volcanic glass forms when lava cools rapidly, resulting in a smooth, glass-like texture.
Believed to ground the user, connecting them with the Earth and enhancing stability during times of stress or change. The stone is associated with mental clarity and insight, aiding in decision-making, and helps release past traumas and emotional blockages, promoting healing and self-acceptance.
